LEVEL I (FOREMAN)
 

  • Work Experience: 7+ Years

  • Must be able to perform all aspects of construction (necessary remodel trades: electrical and plumbing

  • Carpentry: trim & framing, drywall & finishes

  • Read drawings & plans

  • Main point of contact for project manager/sales

  • Interact with customer to update progress

  • Train crew members to advance their skills

  • Document labor logs with time & materials

  • Access situations on the job and create solutions for any design changes that need to be made

  • All changes should be communicated to the office before changes are implemented to ensure both the office and customer are informed of scope being different from a monetary prospective

 

LEVEL II (JR FOREMAN)

  • Work Experience: 4-6 Years

  • Carpentry: trim & framing, drywall & finishes

  • Read drawings & plans

  • Secondary point of contact for project manager/sales

  • Limited driving, but needed mostly for material pick ups

 

Hardscape - Landscape Construction Division


Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned

LEVEL I (FOREMAN)

  • Work Experience: 6+ Years

 

LEVEL II (JR FOREMAN)

  • Work Experience: 3-5 Years

LEVEL III (CREW MEMBER)

  • Work Experience: 0-2 Years

Position Overview

The hardscape team leader is an experienced employee in construction, basic electricity, basic plumbing, and works with minimal supervision. This position directs the activities of a team of two or more in the construction of paver patios, retaining walls, garden ponds, and low-voltage lighting.

Essential Responsibilities

Installs paver patios; stone, wood, or segmental block retaining walls.

Installs garden ponds.

Installs low-voltage landscape lighting.

Reads landscape design prints and implements the landscape construction plan.

Understands elevations and uses this knowledge to execute the construction plan.

Operates, proficiently, a variety of mechanical equipment, including bobcats, back hoes, dingos, plate compactors, stone grinders, drills, gas and electric chop saws, demolition hammers, and jack hammers.

Operates automatic and stick shift vehicles, such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations.

Routinely interacts with clients by way of introductions at the beginning of a job, answering questions, responding to client's requests, making reasonable changes to the plan, and providing a walk-through at the job's completion.

Completes the necessary paperwork including timesheets, work orders, change orders, material requisitions, and client tickets.

Plans and organizes the job, ensuring that sufficient resources and materials are available. Also ensures that job is completed in the most time-efficient manner.

Manages a team of two or more employees, including handling personnel issues on site and training employees on policies and procedures.

Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.

Briefs supervisors and make recommendations on job status, personnel issues, or client concerns.

Helps with snow removal during the winter months.

Maintains assigned equipment and notifies mechanic of needed repairs.

Occasionally applies chemicals under the direction of licensed custom applicator.

This position requires a high school degree or GED, plus one year's experience in the hardscaping field.
Candidate must be able to read and write.
The successful individual will have a working knowledge of standard construction practices, basic understanding of electricity and basic piping and plumbing concepts.

Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude are a must.

Certifications

This position requires that the individual be certified and licensed as follows:

Obtaining a Basic Level Contractor Certification (ICPI) within one year of

accepting this position.

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

First aid / cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by the CDL requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.

In addition, job sites are located on both residential and commercial property. The employee may also occasionally be exposed to the homeowner's pets.

The employee will work closely with members of the team, other team leaders, department heads, and clients.

Knowledge and Experience

Landscape Maintenance Division

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned

LEVEL I (FOREMAN)

  • Work Experience: 6+ Years

  • Manage all paperwork pertaining to job/equipment tracking

  • Work directly with sales team to schedule material deliveries

  • Provide crew with any tools needed to complete assigned tasks

  • Ability to read and/or implement any prints or designed associated with daily tasks

  • Fluent understanding of all materials associated with Industry

  • Install references as well as ICPI or NCMA certifications (record of completion)

  • Fluent in heavy equipment operation applying to the industry

  • $15+ Pay Rate

  • Work Experience: 5+ Years

  • Is aware of the job quality expectations and follows through completion

  • Able to run a productive crew and meet/exceed expectations

  • Keeps all crew members organized and on task

  • Ability to problem solve and think outside the box

  • Confident in giving constructive criticism

  • Ensure completion of job loss and tracking of materials and man hours

  • Ability to run trucks and equipment. Confidence to learn the operation of a new vehicle

  • Ability to manage the crew and personnel problems on site

  • Accountability for all equipment and tools used by your crew

  • Comfortable with reading drawings and blue prints to then transfer to onsite application

  • Obtains good communication skills to their supervisor on any issues in the field on a daily basis

  • Track jobs with paper log and before/after photos, as well as distribute progress pictures to supervisor

  • Lead by example and be a good team member

  • Be aware of jobsite safety & procedure
